Maseru, Lesotho Area - Week 30

Thato & 2tah!

Another solid week! This week we were blessed with zone conference, plus a special treat on Saturday. Elder Ronald A. Rasband from the Quorum of the 12 visited our mission!!! Sadly I couldn't see him because I am too far from Durban, but we did have a live video feed going.

Hebrews 11:13 "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."

I learned a ton about faith this week. This scripture in Hebrews talks about how we can exercise faith by embracing the promises God has given us. Another thing I learned is that we can have faith in Christ by doing things we have never done before. Like how when Joseph Smith prayed in the grove of trees, he had never uttered a prayer out loud before! And yet he received a very clear answer, which led to what we know now as the Restoration.

Elder Rasband held a Q&A with our missionaries. For one of the questions posed he told us a distinct story from his time as a mission president. A missionary was going home and told him the end of his mission didn't go well because he just handed out Book of Mormons in his last area. He felt as if no real work was done. 18 months later, another missionary was going home from the same area. In his final interview, he said that he was happy with his area. They had baptized a family. How did they meet that family? A woman was looking around at her books when she saw a Book of Mormon given to her 18 months ago by that old missionary! Moral of the story is that part of my job is to plant seeds. Eventually they will sprout, even if I don't see the fruits.

Attached is my testimony in Sesotho. Hopefully the sound quality turns out well.
Have a fantastic week!!

Love,
Elder LaHue
