Maseru, Lesotho Area - Week 40

Elder Hinnen

My son's name is Elder Hinnen! He came from Missouri, but lived in Oklahoma for high school. He is 18 years old. He is very mature, we have been getting along well and he is a prepared missionary. Also he'll be joining me at BYU after his mission. Teaching him has been a blessing!! We have been working hard, finding and teaching many new people. The potential for growth here in Lesotho will increase as we continue to be obedient and work hard.

Here is his blog: elderhinnen.blogspot.com

History was made this Sunday: The Maseru Branch split was official! We had a 3 hour meeting and 3 new branch presidents were called. We are officially the Khubetsoana Branch, under the newly called President Makutoane. I am so happy about this, President is an awesome guy and I have known him for about 5 months. We are on the same page for missionary work and the progress here is going to skyrocket!!

Alma 12:37 - "And now, my brethren, seeing we know these things, and they are true, let us repent, and harden not our hearts, that we provoke not the Lord our God to pull down his wrath upon us in these his second commandments which he has given unto us; but let us enter into the rest of God, which is prepared according to his word."

Let us repent. Let us harden not our hearts. Let us enter into the rest of God. I love Alma's admonition here. Entering into the rest of God means receiving the fulness of his glory. Which is actually possible in this life! Not easily obtained, however. It requires sacrifice, love, and faith. Along with many other things.

Love,
Elder LaHue
